What is a Vector Illustration
A vector illustration refers to a digital artwork created using vector graphics software. Unlike raster images that are composed of pixels, vector illustrations are made up of mathematical formulas that define shapes, lines, curves, and colors. These mathematical formulas are stored as points, lines, and curves with attributes such as color, thickness, and transparency.
Vector illustrations offer several advantages over raster images
Scalability:
Vector illustrations are resolution-independent, meaning they can be scaled up or down to any size without losing quality or becoming pixelated. This makes them versatile for various applications, from small icons to large banners.
Editability:
Since vector illustrations are constructed using individual objects and mathematical equations, they can be easily modified. You can adjust the shape, color, size, or any other attribute of an object without affecting the overall quality of the artwork.
Smaller file sizes:
Vector files tend to have smaller file sizes compared to raster files because they only need to store mathematical formulas and attributes rather than information about each pixel. This makes vector illustrations more manageable for storage and faster to load.
Versatility:
Vector illustrations can be used across different mediums and platforms. They are commonly used for logos, icons, infographics, and other graphic design applications. They are the ideal format for printed materials. Vector files can also be exported to many formats, making them compatible with different software and devices
My Process
Deposit: Once you decide to move forward with having your yacht illustrated, I will put you in the queue. When your vessel comes up, I will request a 50% deposit to get started.
Photos: Along with the deposit, I will need photos of your boat.

Multiple angels
Close up & From Afar
Detailed photos of ground tackle, cleats, fairleads etc.
Transom / Nameboard
One photo must be as close to square on as possible, however in most circumstances, I can find supplemental materials online if needed.
Font: Provide the name of the Font used on your nameboard if known
Timeline: Once started, I will provide you with occasional updates along the way. Any and all input is welcomed and appreciated. The illustration process from start to finish is usually around 1-2 weeks.
Final Payment: Once you are completely satisfied with the illustration, final payment will be accepted. Once the payment has gone through, your files will be emailed in a variety of file types and formats.
Thank you!
